A lomos de la bestia

A LOMOS DE LA BESTIA:

1. Summarize in a few lines the documentary.
People flee from Honduras or San Salvador, countries in bad situations, to be able to live a better future in the United States, but every time they get closer to that border located in the North, the most dangerous becomes the road. The people who appear have dreams and illusions that often due to thieves, faced with gangs, to be able to fall, be beaten, die and even women can be raped do not get it. The documentary shows how Jon Sistiaga makes a small route through which the beast passes and talks to some passengers who want to arrive at the United States border. Jon Sistiaga shows us places like the Cemetery of Tapachulas in which people are buried but have no respect for their bodies. They also stop at several shelters (Jesus the Good Shepherd or Road Brothers) where people have been treated to fall or hit but have survived. Finally, there are people who distribute food to travelers when the train passes by the tracks so they can pick it up and not die of hunger or thirst putting their lives in danger to be tripped by the Beast.

2. Why is the train called "La Bestia"?
The train is called "La Bestia" because all the people that travel in this train can fall down ore the mafias can kill them.

3. What countries are the immigrants from? Where do they go?
The inmigrants are from south america especially from mexico, they travel in "La Bestia" because they try to pass the border to USA.

4. What is the academic and/or professional experience of the immigrants?
Most of the travelers do not have academy training or little, so they go to USA to find work or training

5. What dangers do immigrants face during the journey?
They can fall, they can be assaulted or stuck and exposed to being robbed and gang-banded. Women are mistreated and 7 out of 10 are raped.

6. What type of migratory routes are described in the documentary?
the rute go by the south to the north

7. Explain the consequences of migrations for both the countries that send the emigrants away and the countries that receive immigrants?
The consequences for a sending country because the inhabitants who emigrate would not consume the money there and they would take it to other countries, would decrease the population of that place and socially family problems. Beneficiaries would be that there would be more jobs in that place and the increase in the purchase and sale of products.
For a receiving country the consequences would be that there would be more changes both politically and socially, would increase consumption in that country and there would be cultural diversity. There would also be more unemployment and the population would increase.

8. Give your personal opinion.
In my opinion this people expose their lifes in this train an is so hard see that this persons leave their families and their houses
